Sipapa and Wife Shamirah Denied Bail Again, Thrown Back to Luzira Prison

City socialite Charles Olim aka Sipapa is still facing it rough as now he has been thrown back to Luzira Prison after appearing in Court and being told the Judge was on vacation and the government prosecutor was also away until 29th May.

Apparently, Sipapa will again appear before the judge for the next ruling of his case on the 29th of May 2023 as he faces charges related to breaking into the Japanese Ujamaa company offices and stealing property and cash summing up to Shs169m.

All this took a new twist as Sipapa’s case was not heard yesterday, is because the judge in charge of his matter was not present together with the government prosecutor.

Sipapa is battling charges of theft of sh169m and office breaking as he appeared before Grade One Magistrate Esther Adikini and denied the charges, saying he did not commit the offence. 

Under Sections 254, 261 and 297 of the Penal Code Act, the offence of office breaking attracts a maximum sentence of seven years’ imprisonment while theft elicits a 10-year jail term, upon conviction.
