Unbelievable Reasons Why Uganda Cranes Head Coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic Was Sacked Again

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has once again parted ways with Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho closing his second reign with the team after Uganda failing to qualify for next year's AFCON.

According to the Federation, they confirmed this development via their official website indicating the two parties agreed to terminate the employment contract.

“Today, Thursday 14th September 2023, FUFA and Mr. Milutin Sredojevic agreed to mutually end the existing employment contract between the two parties. FUFA appreciates all efforts and commitment by Mr. Milutin during his period as Head coach of Uganda Cranes.”- they posted.

The inability to qualify for AFCON 2023 has resulted in a significant number of football enthusiasts demanding the dismissal of the coach. Micho initially assumed the position of head coach for the national team in 2013 and served until 2017. During his tenure, he facilitated the Uganda Cranes' return to the Africa Cup of Nations, ending a longstanding 39-year drought.

Following AFCON 2017, Micho relocated to South Africa's Orlando Pirates after publicly expressing his dissatisfaction with FUFA's failure to compensate him. He was subsequently replaced by French coach Sebastian Desabre and later John McKinstry.

On August 1, 2021, Micho was reappointed as the Uganda Cranes' head coach, signing a three-year contract. With the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers commencing in November of this year, FUFA will now embark on a search for a new coach.
