Uganda Cranes have today November, 2019 beaten the Malawi Flames 2:0 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole to register a first win in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 qualifiers campaign.
Emmanuel Okwi who plies his trade for Ittihad alexandria ànd Vipers' sharp shooter Fahad Bayo netted the two goals to mark a good return to Namboole by the Cranes after 366 days when they last played at the same ground, on that day, the Cranes beat Cape Verde 1:0 courtesy of Henry Kaddu to go back to AFCON for the second time in succession.
In the same group B, Burkina Faso visited and beat South Sudan 2:1.
Uganda now tops the table on four points level with Burkina Faso but with a two goal difference advantage over Burkina Faso's one. Malawi stands third with three points and South Sudan who haven't won a game are at the bottom.
Uganda's next match is against South Sudan at home (Namboole) on 31st August, 2020.
