Vipers woes of the new year continued today 28th January 2020 with a third match in a row without a win.
The Venoms whose last misfortunes came in their most recent match against third division side Kajjansi United (they lost 4:2 in Penalties at the round of 64) who play in Buganda region, have gone on to play to a fruitless draw today against Mbarara city FC.
The two matches have followed a 1:0 league loss to Villa SC and also marked a non convincing start at the new job by new coach Fred Kajoba.
Mbarara city have not registered a win against Vipers in their last six league matches drawing 3, losing three. They have scored 3 goals conceding 6, earning 4 points as compared to Vipers 10 in the last six matches.
The result means second placed KCCA who beat Kyetume FC 2:0 in one of the other day's fixtures reduced Vipers points lead to two. Thanks to goals from Sadat Anaku and Erisa Ssekisambu.
It was the first league encounter between the sides as Kyetume FC are league debutants this season. URA's imperious form faded after being held to a one all draw by Tooro United in Fort Portal. The tax collectors had won their last four matches in succession, three of which have been in the league.
Onduparaka beat Busoga United 2:1. Thanks to goals from Julius Malingumu in the 24th minute and Okocha Rashid's 68th minute winner that counseled out Nelson Mandela's 28th minute goal that had levelled matters for Busoga United.
Proline FC playing at home, Star Times Stadium Lugogo beat Police FC 2:1. Mustafa Mujuzi scored two penalties for the Purple and Yellow stripped side in the 4th and 15th minute with Kakooza Derrick getting a consolation for the Cops in the 11th minute.
