In one of the two fixtures played on Friday 6th march, 2020, Police FC were the day’s biggest achievers as they visited and beat and URAFC 2:1, thanks to goals from Kakooza Derrick in the 10th minute and Ben Ocen sealing the win in the 80th minute. The tax collectors had equalized through former Police FC midfielder Kalega Hassan Ggaata but his goal was rendered cancelled by Ben Ocen’s late strike.
The win, the first for the Cops in eight matches since a 1:0 win over Kyetume on 17th January, 2020 lifts them to 13th on the table with 25 points, one point above relegation.
URA FC who would have displaced Busoga United from the fourth position with a win remain fifth on 40 points and registered their second loss of the season’s second round, after they also fell to Busoga United in a 3:0 loss away in Jinja.
In Wakiso at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso Giants played to a barren stalemate with vipers. Vipers who would have gone six points above second placed KCCA are now four points clear with five matches to go. The Purple Sharks who have not won a game in three matches stand 10th at the table with 30 points only six above rlegation.
Match day 25 ends on Saturday 7th with a fixture between hosts Tooro United and SC Villa at St.Paul Seminary Playground in Fort portal. SC Villa will close the gap with second placed KCCA FC to four points with a win against the “Entale Za Tooro” and hence create a four points lead over Busoga United in fourth Position.
Tooro United sit at the bottom of the sixteen team log with 22 points and will at all costs need a win to boost their hopes for survival. A win could take their season’s points tally to 25 and will lift them to 14th position with only goal difference failing them getting out of relegation. The match will be the last as the league will go into recess for almost two months as Championship of African Nations (CHAN) takes the front.
