After a period of close to a decade of dedicated coaching in Africa, former Uganda Cranes coach Sebastian Desabre has returned to home country France where he is going to coach second French league tier Niort FC.
Despite being a French, Desabre has had most of his coaching career on the African continent and has among others coached Asec Mimosa (Ivory Coast), Cotton Sport (Cameron), Esperance De Tunis (Tunisia), Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo (Angola).
In his African exploration, he coached only one National team, The Uganda Cranes and he is the latest coach to take the team to the last sixteen of the African Cup of Nations since Peter Okee in 1978 who made it to a second place finish losing in finals to Ghana.
He joined the Cranes in 2017 after AFCON and after the 2019 AFCON edition in Egypt, Desabre joined Egypt's outfits Pyramids FC in 2019 who he left to join Morocco's Wydad Athletic Club in 2020.Niort finished 18th in the French ligi 2 after 28 matches, with 6 wins, 8 draws and 14 losses on 24 points.
Desabre started his coaching career in 2006 coaching ES Cannet-Rocheville in France until 2010. He now returns home after a decade of coaching on African continent.
