In a match played at Konyaspor's home Konya Buyuksehir Belediyesi Stadium, Uganda's star Miya Farouk was the hero for the home side as his 90th minute penalty goal gave his side a deserved win.
Rizespor had held on for a point but for Miya Farouk, a 57th minute substitute who replaced Levan Shengelia, Konyaspor's hopes for surviving relegation were elevated.
The win in a match officiated by referee Firat Aydinus lifts Konyaspor to two places above relegation in 14th position on an eighteen team log with 30 points with four matches to go.
The goal lifts Miya's goal tally to six in 22 matches he has played for the side nicknamed the Anatolian Eagle this season.
On the other side, Rizespor, remained in the relegation zone standing 16th with 19 points.
Istanbul Basaksehir stands the chance to represent Turkey in Champions League next season as they currently top the country's Super Lig - Table with 63 points as Trabzonspor stand a berth in Europa next season, currently standing second with 61 points.
