Ugandans Prohibited From Lighting Fireworks on New Years Eve

As it has always been a tradition for people to light up fireworks at the beginning of every year, Ugandans have this time around been prohibited from exhibiting any while entering 2021 and ending 2020 miserable year.

As all public end of year festivities such as musical concerts, overnight prayers, fireworks display have been banned this time around due to the existence of COVID19.

“As you keep safe remember that Curfew hours, Traffic rules remain in place and will be enforced by police,” said ICT minister Judith Nabakooba.

According to her, the regular routine of coming out in trading centres to watch fireworks should be cancelled.

She said the gathering and funfare increases the risk of spreading Covid19.
