FUFA Polls: Eng. Moses Magogo and Allan Ssewanyana Pick Nomination Forms for FUFA Presidency

Incumbent FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo has on Tuesday 25th May,2021 become the third on the list of nominees to run for the presidential seat of Uganda's football governing body, the Federation of Uganda Football Association, FUFA.

Magogo is the latest to pick up the nomination forms following Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, the Makindye West legislator who earlier in the day picked up his to take the list to two, adding to Mujib Kasule who picked up his on Monday 24th May, to take the list to three.

Magogo's success as FUFA President is unparalleled after he guided the Uganda Cranes to back to back appearances in Africa Cup of Nations in 2017 and 2019 for the first time since 1978. He has developed Women Football, professionalized football and more football developing seminars/courses for referees and coaches have been conducted, to mention but a few.

On the other side however, Allan Ssewanyana also sounds. He is the sports minister of the shadow government and also the Proprietor of the of the Katwe United football team.

Ssewanyana is remembered for tabling a motion to the floor of Parliament requesting for a reduction on the salaries of MPs in order to thank the National team, the Uganda Cranes for qualifying for the AFCON 2017 after 39 years of absence.

For Mujib Kasule,he is a CAF instructor and a director of Proline FC Academy which plays in the Star Times Big League and also reigning champions of the the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Mujib Kasule prioritizes developing of grassroot football and securing what he calls the the lost FUFA body. He also points to the fact that FUFA needs to direct more resources to improving player status.

Kasule Mujib was also Vice FUFA President between 2005 and 2013 under Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa reign.

The law provides that a person to run for this position must have served football for atleast seven years and must be between 31 and 69 years as per the FUFA statutes in article 39.
