The StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) saw four matches played on match day 17 yield 13 goals with Vipers-Arua Hilla encounter and Onduparaka against Busoga United yielding the most (4) each.
Vipers who are vying for a fifth UPL title had their own Siraje Sentamu named man of the match in a 3:1 win at home against Arua Hill SC.Thanks to goals from Cesear Manzoki (48'),Milton Kaliisa (71') and a beauty from Yunus Ssentamu's 80th minute chip fetching the three points for the Robertinho coached side.
Gadafi Wahab pulled one for the West Nile side in the 76th minute that had halved the lead but only had to turn into a consolation at the full time whistle.
The win was Vipers' third in a row and mantained their status quo at the table summit with 39 points, four more of KCCA FC in second place though the 'Kasasiro Boys' have a match in hand.On the other side however, Arua Hills are 6th on the table with 28 points.
URA FC beat Gadafi FC 2:1 with goals from from Ibrahim Dada and a 90th minute strike from Brian Nkuubi sealing it for the tax collectors as Bate Seif's goal that had given Gaddafi FC parity in the 67th minute had to only turn into a consolation at full time whistle.
At Ababet Green Light Stadium in Arua, Mohammad Shaban was named man of the match as his side Onduparaka swept aside visitors Busoga United. Gabriel Matata scored the other for the 'Caterpillars' whilst SSozi Shaka's goal was only a consolation for the Busoga United.
At Kyabazinga Stadium-Bugembe, Richard Wandyaka was also man of the match as his Bul Fc beat Wakiso Giants FC 2:0. Richard Wandyaka scored the opener in the 16th minute and Simon Peter Oketch put the icing on the cake at the stroke of full time.
Match 17 ends on Sunday 13th February as KCCA FC make a trip to Mbarara for an encounter with the "Ankole Liona", Mbarara City FC.
