Kitegenyi's Lone Strike Sends Mbarara City to First Ever Stanbic Uganda Cup Semi-final

Mbarara City FC have on Wednesday 27th April 2022 reached their first ever Uganda Cup semi finals after overcoming Mbale Heroes with a 1:0 score.

Mbale Heroes had held on till the 88th minute when Henry Kitegenyi found the back of the net to help his side see off a resistant Mbale side. The win means Mbarara City join Vipers SC, Bul FC, Booma fc in the semi finals.

The win also gives Mbarara City FC some sigh of relief and confidence in the fight against relegation from Uganda Premier League as the “Ankole Lions” are still stuck in the red zone of the country’s top tier, second from the bottom of a 16 team log.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup Semi Finals draws will be held next week with the ties set to be played on a home and away basis.
