Singer Jose Chameleone has claimed that even though he was denied the NUP party card, he is still a member and he is also apart DP, this has confirmed his chameleon changing state.
Addressing the media this morning at his residence in Seguku, the music legend who seeks a breakthrough in politics says is an active member of the National Unity Platform party headed by his fellow artiste, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.
Chameleone days that although he did not successfully scoop the NUP flag, he remains passionate about the struggle led by Hon. Kyagulanyi. “It is very disappointing that I did not get the NUP card,” Chameleone emotionally opens up. “When Bobi Wine invited me to join the party I thought that I would have the umbrella over me,” he recounts.
He however ends up contradicting himself when he asserts that he is politically active in both NUP and DP. “I am still NUP and a bit of DP but what is important is that I am on the people’s side,” Chameleone reveals.
Regarding his political journey, Chameleone says he does not underestimate any of his opponents. “I know that I am standing against other artistes for the seat of Kampala Lord Mayor. However, what is their success story?,” he asks. “What did they add to the music industry before they joined politics? I believe I got them beat at that,” he adds.
