Uganda Cranes team on Thursday 4th November beat the Northern select team 3:1 with goals coming from Ibrahim Orit (Vipers SC), Mato Rogers (KCCA FC) and URA FC skipper Shafiq Kagim.
In the match played at Boma playground in Kitgum district, Uganda Cranes was the dominant team all throughout with Obed Brian pulling one that turned out to be a consolation for for the home.
The Uganda Cranes regional tours were started to help people in up country have a chance to look at the National team players as most football fans in distant places from Kampala usually miss travelling to the city to watch their favorite players play the country.
However on the provocative note, these tours are always composed of locally based players of whom Ugandans have less interest in watching them play.
Uganda is preparing for their fourth match of the second round of Africa qualifiers for World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Uganda Cranes take on Kenya next Thursday 11th November 2021 at St. Mary's Stadium Kitende.
Uganda Cranes need to win both of its next two matches (Kenya and Mali) to simply qualify for the third round of Africa qualifiers for World Cup 2022 without minding the result from Mali's encounter with Rwanda.
Uganda is currently second in group E with 8 points, two less of leaders Mali with two matches to end group stages.
Only ten group winners will advance to the third round and will be drawn in pairs with five winners from each of the pairs representing Africa in the World Cup.
