Uganda Cranes Held by Buganda Region Select at Naama Playground in Mityana

In its regional tours held every year, the Uganda Cranes team played to a 1 all draw with Buganda Region select team in a match played at Naama Playground in Mityana.

Uganda Cranes got the lead in the 29th minute through Mato Rogers but the hosts equalized in the 44th minute through Rajab Joga with his strike the last of the match to leave it all square by the full time whistle.

The regional tours by Uganda Cranes are aimed at spotting new talents and showing the Uganda Cranes players to people who fail to make it to the international matches to watch them play.

The match was watched by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredejovic and Sam Mpiima one of the officials of Buganda Region Football Associationa and a massive crowd watched the match.

After a while of not donning the national Jersey, Miya Farouq featured for the Uganda Cranes and was the day's skipper.

The match was also used to prepare for the upcoming four nation tournament in Uzbekistan, the CHAN 2022 (8–31 January 2023) and AFCON 2023.
