Speaker Anita Among Rejects the Office of Late Jacob Oulanyah Over 'Disturbing Memories'

After being announced as the new Speaker for the Parliament of Uganda, Anita Among has rejected the office of her predecessor, Oulanyah, over 'disturbing memories' and wants her Deputy Thomas Tayebwa to move there while she retains his.

Among has stated that she is satisfied with her current position, implying that she will not be taking over Jacob Oulanyah’s job anytime soon.

Among is also claimed to be hesitant to take up her mentor’s office on the sixth floor for fear of rekindling Jacob oulanya’s memories.

Ms Anita Among opted to keep her office on grounds that she is “comfortable in it” and that relocating to the 6th floor would resurrect her fond memories with Oulanyah ,.
