Source Management songstress Hajjara Namukwaya, commonly known as Spice Diana has pierced holes in the newly launched Janzi Awards for lacking credibility in the awarding criteria.
The first of the kind two day Janzi Awards 2021 event that went down over the weekend at Kololo Independence Grounds saw over 300 creative arts personalities nominated and 75000 cast at the awards which seek to honour and celebrate artistic and creative excellence of Ugandans in the Creative and Arts Industry.
It didn't long after the end of the awarding ceremony that the Diva expressed her dismay to the Janzi Awards organisers for putting up a bubble gum awarding ceremony with a fake criteria that saw many undeserving acts fluke awards mention the winner in the Artist of the Year category.
Leaving aside the alleged selfish interests of the organisers, Spice Diana requested that government opens the music industry so that artistes can resume working.
"For the Janzi Awards in Particular
1. What was the rush to organise an award ceremony in two weeks. What was the intention of the event?
2. Why did you allow the fans to vote if the final verdict depended on the opinion of just the “academy” who we are not sure of their interests
3. We congratulate every winner however what is the criteria you used to determine the Artist of the year. I know so many great artists who deserved that acolade hands down
If you want to elevate the art industry lets have clear headed people without selfish interests out of our art industry. Open us up let us go back and work." Spice Diana
