Following a thorough analysis of the collapsed match played between KCCA FC and Onduparaka FC played on 27th December, 2021, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel, FUFA Investigations Chamber and FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel have issued punishments for three parties, ie Onduparaka, player Rashid Okocha and referee Ronald Mandanda.
The panel resolved to ban referee Ronald Mandanda for six months effective from 31st December 2021 to 31st December,2022. It was discovered that the referee made wrong decisions when he awarded a penalty to Onduparaka FC and that he was in wrong position when he awarded KCCA a penalty in the 97th minute despite maintaining the decision for that case was right.
The panel also resolved that Onduparaka FC be deducted 2 points from its accrued points and also a 2 goal deduction for breaching Article 31(10) (b), Article 31 (10)a and Article 31(10) (f) (iii) of the FUFA Competitions Rules which high light acts of hooliganism and all sorts of acts that lead to abandonment of a match.
Onduparaka was also given a suspended one point and goal deduction in case such scenarios happen again.
Onduparaka player Rashid Okocha was suspended from all football related activities effective from 31st December,2021 to 31 May 2021 and with a fine of UGX 1m to be paid into the FUFA ACCOUNT ACCOUNT NO.7210000969 ECO BANK NDEEBA BRANCH and bring proof of payment of the same to the committee.
Onduparaka FC club CEO Edson Saba Saba was suspended from football activities for 90 days. Saba Saba was seen protesting the penalty awarded to KCCA FC with intimidating words and gestures plus also inciting violence amongst fans.
